We worked out an interior design project for the entrance lobby of the residential complex ‘Lumiére’ in St. Peterburg. It’s an unusual building located in Petrogradsky district, with a reserved exterior, but with a bright and unconventional decoration of the interior and also the inner yard. A project of this character also demanded other than a standard solution for the lobby.
In spite of the fact that the building will be put into operation next year it has already become famous in the city for its peculiar combination of strict classical exteriors and the inner yard designed in a modern style with a coloured glass facade. Therefore the entrance lobby should also offer an impressive surprise for the visitors.
Because the concept of the building was so congenial to us, we offered immediately our various sketches and proposals for decoration. During the design process we improved and changed some details. We managed to walk away from an obsolete and outdated approach to the interior of entrance areas. No heavy chandeliers or any other pompous elements. Everything is light, stylish and modern.
The lobby of the building was divided into a lightly coloured waiting area and a reception in darker hues, the reception being needed to direct the visitor around the complex.
The concept and the corporate identity of the residential complex both lie at the basis of our solution for the design. These ideas were revealed by bright colourful cases recessed into the columns that rise up to the ceiling, by coloured stripes along the stairs and, certainly by the sign board in the shape of the logo at the entrance of the building.
